Nominate your favorite “DoGood-er” across the categories below. Winners will be chosen and honored at an awards ceremony in October 2023.

All-Star DoGood-er – the individual who has provided countless volunteer hours for numerous causes and groups within our community and whose tireless efforts help these causes provide for others. They give back to their local community without compensation and help to improve lives. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Youth DoGood-er - the younger hero who has provided countless volunteer hours for numerous causes and groups within our community, or through innovation and invention has served the people in the community. Their tireless efforts help these causes provide for others. They give back to their local community without compensation and help to improve lives. Recipient can be anyone under 18 that resides in Frederick County.

Business DoGood-er – the individual who has made an impact on the success of a Frederick business or the business community as a whole, through service, invention or innovation. These people go above and beyond their given job descriptions to impact the lives of others and the sustainability of business in Frederick. Example: creation of a useful app, start of networking group. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Education DoGood-er – the individual who works as an administrator, teacher (public or private), coach, secretary, school bus driver, school board or speaker in the Frederick community who has impacted students or classrooms to improve education in our community. These are individuals who have gone above and beyond to move people forward in their lives by providing necessary skills and concepts to achieve greatness. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Public Service DoGood-er – the individual serving our community in a public service position, that goes above the job description through service, invention or innovation, and impacts the lives of others. Public Service jobs include – elected officials, law enforcement, social services, fire/rescue, public transportation, postal service, environmental etc. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Military DoGood-er – the individual serving in a branch of military (army, navy, air force, marines, reserves) who has gone above and beyond the call of duty, to impact lives of others within the community. These individuals can be active military or retired and special consideration for civilians with tremendous service to the military community. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

2nd Chance DoGood-er— an individual who has been given a second chance for a better life from arrest, incarceration, illness, accident, etc, and has truly given back to their community through exhibited behavior, good deeds, creating a cause or volunteer efforts. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Unsung Hero DoGood-er—an individual who works behind the scenes, mostly out of the limelight for a non-profit organization, but yet makes a significant impact. Sometimes put in roles as treasurer, secretary or the like, they keep things rolling despite deadlines, setbacks and unforeseen circumstances. Recipient can be anyone 18 and older that resides in Frederick County.

Non-Profit DoGood-er — an individual who has led a local non-profit organization and has gone above and beyond the duties of the organization, and whose tireless efforts help these organizations provide for others. They impact those they serve but also the larger community as a whole, with their enormous and vast contributions.

Criteria for all:

-Resident of Frederick County for at least 5 years in any community in the county.
-Must be serving an entity in the Frederick community.
-Evidence of impact—tangible evidence i.e. physical items, news stories, etc. plus (2 or more) letters of recommendation outside of nomination.
-Must be 18 and older except for Youth DoGood-er.
-Submission of recent headshot or clear photograph.
